Inexpensive Glasses: Firmoo

Apparently when I was in second grade I wanted glasses, and I wanted them badly. According to my mom, I reported that I was getting headaches, couldn't see the chalkboard, and had blurry vision.  My mom took me to the eye doctor only to find out that my vision was 20/20.  My mom got to the bottom of it and discovered that I read a book where the main character had all those symptoms and got glasses, which is why I made up my whole story. Fast forward a few years later, and sure enough, I ended up needing glasses.  At that point I wasn't too keen on them, and I eventually got contacts.  However, I still wear glasses in the evening or when my eyes need a break from my contacts.

My vision just keeps getting worse, and I recently decided to update my glasses because the prescription was too old and my eyes were having a hard time.  After having an eye exam, I looked at glasses at a few different stores, but couldn't get over the price tag shock, especially after having to buy new contacts.  I was thrilled that Firmoo reached out to me to review a pair of glasses.

I was a little skeptical and unsure of what to expect, as I have never ordered glasses off the internet before, but I was really impressed!  My main reason for not wanting to order them online is because you can't try them on to see how you look wearing them.  Firmoo solved that problem with a "Try on View" where you can upload your picture and see how you would look in several pairs of glasses.  There is a huge range of colors and frames, so it took my indecisive self way too long to decide! When I finally decided (after asking poor Thomas 934 times if he thought I was making the right choice), it was easy to enter my prescription information, and they shipped surprisingly quickly. When my package arrived, I was very pleased with the frames, the prescription was perfect, and after seeing the prices on their website, I will certainly be ordering glasses from them in the future!

I have only had them for about a month, so I can't comment on how durable they are. However, they have stood the test of toddler hands, which is just what I need. Oliver finds it hilarious when I wear glasses, and he always tries to pull them off! If they can hold up through that, I think they will last for quite a while!

I feel like my second grade self forever jinxed my vision since I wished for glasses, but at least I now have a place to find affordable, fashionable glasses.  Overall, I would recommend Firmoo, and as I said, I will certainly be heading to their site in the future when I need a new pair.

* I received a free pair of glasses in exchange for writing a review. However, all opinions expressed in this post are my own.

  1. Those look great on you! I wanted to try Firmoo a while back but apparently my sight is so bad they don't do lenses with such a severe prescription! So every time I see a blogger review them, I think, "Ah, she must not have that bad of eye sight!"

  2. How nice! I didn't know you could write reviews for them and receive a free pair! I bought a pair last year from Firmoo and love them! They still ended up being $40 which was still more than I wanted to spend, but they'll really held up well and don't give me a headache. You look great by the way..love your new glasses!

  4. If the book you read was a Babysitters Club one, I read that one, too, and tried to do the same thing! If not, then maybe this glasses-faking phenomenon is more common than I thought =) You look great!
