7 Quick Takes Friday: Volume 65

I am absolutely loving my fieldwork rotation right now! While it's obviously a lot of work, I can't help but smile and laugh all day long!  Also, I'm convinced that OT is the best job in the world.  My days consist of such a variety of things from making cookies to developing a switch for someone to turn on her lighted mirror to leading an exercise group for older women in wheelchairs to making splints to assessing people to see what will help them be more independent with eating...and the list goes on and on!

I have so much to write about from the study on Catholicism that Thomas and I are leading, but just not enough time in the day! I am in the process of writing one and will probably try to do a little writing on the way home in the car this weekend.  I also wrote a guest post for Mandi about starting a family young, which you'll probably see in the next few weeks!

Thomas and I had a sweet picnic and games date a few weeks back!  I just love that man of mine, and I also am loving this fall weather, even with the recent rain!

We had a little incident last night - I put dinner in the oven, but the oven broke and would not heat up!  This resulted in Chinese takeout and a Redbox movie, which in reality was perfect for a rainy evening!

Loving this quote from Pope Francis:

"Ours is not a joy born of having many possessions, but from having encountered a Person, Jesus, in our midst; it is born from knowing that with him we are never alone, even at difficult moments, even when our life's journey comes up against problems and obstacles that seem insurmountable, and there are so many of them! And in this moment the enemy, the devil, comes, often disguised as an angel, and slyly speaks his word to us. Do not listen him! Let us follow Jesus!"

We went home last weekend, which was awesome because I got to see my little brother who was home for fall break!

I have a really exciting weekend ahead with the baby shower! I can't wait to see friends and family and to celebrate the life of this sweet little boy! :)

  1. Your sweet baby will have sooo much fun in life with you too, Caitlin!

And this is so weird, but do you ever date and keep your scrabble score sheets?

Steve and I used to play all the time when we were younger, and we always signed and dated the score sheets. Not long ago, I came across the one in the bottom of the pile that we had played the night before Madison was born! It was so neat to see. Steve won, of course! ; )

    Anyway, enjoy your baby shower!

  2. You and Thomas are just the sweetest couple! I love all your fun dates you go on! And I LOVE that quote from Pope Francis - thanks for sharing!

  3. You look great! I can't believe it will only be a few more weeks!!

  4. Enjoy the weekend and your baby shower!! As someone in a very similar boat as you, I'm looking forward to your guest post!

  5. As always, you guys are too cute!!!! and I'm loving on your baby bump! Can't wait to go through this experience myself, when God wills it. Have a lovely weekend Caitlyn and Thomas! God Bless!

  7. Your fieldwork sounds amazing. It must be very fulfilling to be able to help someone RIGHT NOW with what they need, and empower them to help themselves. Have a great time at your baby shower.
