Weekend Recap

This past weekend was so wonderful, but who came up with the idea of a two day weekend?   I think we need just one more day in there! ;)  Thomas came home from work on Friday and surprised me, saying he wanted to take me out for a date since we haven't gone on one in a while!  We went out for subs, went to see Despicable Me 2, and to top the deal off, we got some frozen yogurt after the movie!  He is so good to me, and we had such a great night together! :) As for Despicable Me 2 - it was HILARIOUS! Even funnier than the first, and we probably laughed harder than all of the kids in there...

Saturday morning we went off to the greenway for a morning run.  One of my best friends from college briefly stopped by, and it was so good having the chance to catch up with her a little bit!  We did some chores, went to church in the evening, and had a lazy night in.

On Sunday, we decided to do some exploring in two small nearby towns, which were super cute!

It was a relaxing, peaceful day, and I was so thankful for the blue skies, sunshine, and nature.

You wouldn't believe how many turtles we saw!
Thomas was in paradise, and he can't wait to check out animals with his buddy soon! :)

That swing by the breezy waterfront = perfection.   I could have sat there all day!

Lunch was spent picnicking in the shade on the waterfront, and it was so relaxing and a much needed break after all the walking we did.  Note to my pregnant self - next time, wear sneakers.

I appreciate weekends so much more now that I'm on fieldwork full time.  I come home so exhausted every evening and truly look forward to two full days spent relaxing with my husband.
