I am loving my fieldwork placement!  I have so many stories I wish I could tell, but I can't due to that little HIPAA thing. :) I've gotten to bake, garden, and sew with patients (among other things like working on toileting, dressing, etc.), and goodness gracious, I love occupational therapy!  It's so exciting helping people gain back their independence!

I am convinced that I want to work in a hospital when I get my first job simply because of the fact that you get to wear scrubs.  They are just so easy and comfortable!!

Thomas is way too good to me!  I have to leave earlier than him every morning, so he has been packing my lunch every day, always complete with sweet little notes!  He even brought me some beautiful flowers yesterday! :)  Feeling very spoiled and loved!

Thomas and I have been eating a lot of this better than Chipotle bowl and LOVING it!  I highly recommend it!  We eat it over basatmi rice and top it with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and avocado!  Yum!

Speaking of food, Baby Z is making me soooo HUNGRY.  I eat so much food, but then I'm starving two hours later!  I do not get too much of a chance to snack during the day since we're busy seeing patients, so we're trying to figure out what I could bring for lunch besides typical lunch foods that would be easy and more filling.  Any ideas??

Oh friends,  I learned that you can't substitute dish washing soap for dishwasher soap when you run out or else you'll get a big old soapy mess!  Woops! :)

We are just devastated because we found out both of our priests are being sent to another parish this month.  One of whom has been at the parish for 15 years.   We really love them and it makes me so sad, even though I know they will be wonderful for the much bigger church they are being sent to.  It will be interesting to see what our new priests are like!

  2. Would you be allowed to keep some kind of snack in your pockets or keep a little bag with you that has snacks in it? I know for me I had to eat something just about every hour early on in the pregnancy. I would often snack on Ritz crackers, different kinds of fruits or vegetables, yogurt, oatmeal, granola bars, and drinking things like smoothies or milkshakes are really filling.

Love the notes he leaves for you! So sweet!

    1. Thanks so much Kari! I have tried to pack snacks this week, but there's only been one day where I've actually had the chance to eat it!!

  3. My favorite pregnancy snack was cheese and crackers. Pretty easy and very convenient to keep in a baggy in your pocket :)

  5. Hi! I just found your blog and had fun poking around. I'm an OT! And a Catholic! But not a blogger. It is an amazing field! It is soooo unbelievably flexible, which has been one of it's greatest benefits these last 11 years since my oldest child was born. I worked full-time for a few years when I got out of school, then dropped down to PRN when my first child was born. Since being PRN, I have worked as little as twice a month to as much as 2 days a week at various times. I change up my schedule as the needs of my family changes. It is a gift to have such a flexible job.

Congratulations on the pregnancy. My recommendation is small snacks you can put in your pocket and eat easily while you do your charting. I always had almonds or granola bars in my pocket when I was pregnant.

    1. Love finding another Catholic OT, and I am so glad to hear you have had such an good experience with the flexibility! :) Definitely trying to snack, but a lot of the time we don't get to our documentation time until lunch!

  6. I was constantly starving while pregnant and eating a lot of protein really helped. Some people recommend ~80 grams a day to help baby grow. I took Bradley childbirth classes and following their high-protein recommendations really helped me not be crazy starving all the time. (www.drbrewerpregnancydiet.com/id96.html)

    And #3 is super sweet!!

    1. Thanks so much for the tip and the link! I looked at it yesterday, and I am going to try to change up my breakfasts and lunches to get more protein in me for that growing baby! :)

  7. I'm also pregnant and have had to discover some snacks that are more filling just so I don't overeat throughout the day when I feel ravenous (usually high protein foods are the best for this)! I listed a few in my most recent quick takes (ironic, right?) and Steph from Captive the Heart commented with a few of her suggestions, too.
