18 Week Bumpdate!

Our Baby:
  • He/she is about 5.5 inches long and weighs about 7 oz!
  • Myelin is forming around the baby's nerves.
  • If it's a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are already formed.
  • I've read differing opinions on this, but it's very possible that the baby can hear!  Not that it really matters when since Thomas and I have been talking to him or her all.the.time since the day we found out!

Best Moments:
  • I have been feeling the baby moving around ALL WEEK!!!  It has been the most exciting thing I've ever felt!  I know a lot of people describe it as flutters, but it kind of feels like little muscle spasms or twitches to me.  It makes me smile every time I feel it, and Thomas wants to know whenever I feel it!  I am just so amazed by this precious miracle and so thankful that God has blessed us with this child!

Cravings: Chocolate, ice cream, and salty, salty soft pretzels...all of which I am doing a mighty fine job of indulging in! ;)  We made some soft pretzels and cheese dip for lunch today!

Aversions: Vegetables.  When will I love you again?  You were once my favorite...

Symptoms: I made it through the past week without feeling faint! Wahoo!  A new record! :)   Running has been gradually getting harder and harder, and I have to take lots of walking breaks.   Maybe I'm crazy, but we signed up for a 5 miler in 2 months.  5-6 is about as far as I can go right now, so by that point I might be walking half or all of it!   I figured it would at least motivate me to continue exercising.

Other: THREE DAYS (!!!!) until we find out the baby's gender! I am so excited to find out and to share the news! :)

  8. You look awesome! I had to give up running at 5 months pregnant because my poor muscles couldn't hold my huge belly anymore without lots of pain after. Walking is a great choice!!

Usually I make those Auntie Ann's ones, but my pregnant brain could not get my mind off of those big fluffy ones after seeing them on Pinterest! :)
