Do I really even need to say what the best part of this week was?

-2-
I have been enjoying Spring Break!  Thomas and I had some of our friends over one night for dinner and games.  They taught us how to play Spades, and we had such a great time with them!  I just love having another married couple to hang out with!

Also, I had to go out of town yesterday for a training on preventing child abuse, and I got to meet up with one of my best friends for dinner!  Love, love, loved that time for girl talk! :)

Life Teen went really well last week, and Thomas and I are both very excited about this opportunity!  I was so happy to hear last week that so many of you have had such great experiences with it.  It seems like such an awesome group, and I can't wait to get more involved!

Thomas and I had a wonderful time visiting with my parents and my brother last weekend for some dinner and hockey!  I am so thankful we were all able to meet up together!

This is probably so weird, but I am really fascinated by reading stories of Protestants who converted to Catholicism.   I think it's a combination of being excited that they have found their way home, seeing the amazing way God works in people's hearts, learning more about Catholicism, and just seeing the different paths that led people to the Church.  I recently read Rome Sweet Home by Scott and Kimberly, and it is SO good.  A definite must read.

I am just dying to go to this conference at FUS this July! Maybe, maybe, maybe it could work out......

How is my spring break just about over?  Not cool, Robert Frost!  Just in case you don't know what that reference is from, check out this video!

  1. If you like conversion stories, check out the Surprised by Truth series. They are excellent. I'm glad you are enjoying Life Teen and spring break. If you get the opportunity to go to AZ for Life Teen training, DO IT!

  3. Whenever I get the FUS Conference mailing, I miss my alma mater so much! But to go there in the hot summer heat with no beach....I don't know if I'm strong enough :)

  4. I have to be honest...when I saw "the best part of this week" I thought you were pregnant! Our new Papa is good news indeed, though =)

So glad the youth group is going well, and I really enjoyed Rome Sweet Home, too! I felt like it gave me a lot of apologetics knowledge for explaining the faith to Protestants in a way I'd never really been able to articulate before. Have a good weekend!

  7. I love how you love your mom so much! Probably because I am close to her age I'm guessing, and I hope to have that same relationship with my kids when they are your age! : )

  8. I love the surprised by truth series, too. I haven't ever read Rome Sweet Home, but have heard wonderful things about it. Very blessed with our new Pope. I think he's just perfect.

  9. Try "Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic" by David Currie. Most influential book in my own conversion.

  10. Oh my, that FUS Conference looks AMAZING! I wish I could go too! And, oh! I'm starting a "Book of the Month" Link-up next month (here's the post: http://theselittleblessings.blogspot.com/2013/03/book-of-month-march.html) next month. I'd be delighted if you would share about Rome Sweet Home.

    God bless you!

  11. Couple friend are awesome. A new Catholic young couples group just started in our area and we're having so much fun with it. Dinner and games/discussion once a month is amazing! This past time a couple with a newborn baby came and it was so exciting to have another parent couple there.

I helped with the LifeTeen at my church for four years before I got married and moved away. It was actually such a huge growing experience for ME and kept me in the Church when I was going through a really terrible abusive relationship with an anti-Catholic man!

  12. That conference looks amazing! Make sure you go! I'm hoping that I'll get to one some summer... When the little ones aren't so demanding of my time. ;)

    Have a great weekend!

  13. #5 - I love conversion stories too, especially Rome Sweet Home. I was at a Protestant college, struggling to be Catholic and considering leaving the Church actually, when someone gave me this book. As you know, I'm still Catholic. :) The book was quite appropriate because Scott Hahn attended the same college I was attending when I read the book!

Have a great weekend Caitlin! :)
