Thomas and I celebrated our 1.5 year anniversary Wednesday night...complete with a fort, board games, and ice cream sundaes! :) We are completely and totally ten years old at heart.

-2-
You might have already seen it, but if not, I wrote this blog post explaining why Thomas and I do not use contraception.  It was nerve-wrecking to post it, but I am so grateful for all of the positive feedback!  I am thrilled about the number of women who have already approached me wanting to know more about NFP, and I am so thankful that God is able to use our story to impact others.  Very humbling.

I am so excited for our next study at church!  It doesn't start for another three weeks, but we'll be doing Seven Deadly Sins, Seven Deadly Virtues for Lent.  I have heard really great things about Father Barron, and I think this is going to be a good one!

-4-
We went hiking two weekends ago with my in-laws when we visited for my father in law's birthday, and I never posted any pictures or wrote anything about it, so here you go!

I decided to stop writing posts for What I Wore Sunday.  I really tried to get into it, but it's just not me, and I honestly wasn't feeling it.  I like to look presentable, but I am just not really that interested in fashion.  I know, I know - boring.

-6-

My boss is so sweet!  I got a little surprise at work this week. :)

 -7-
I'm looking forward to just being with Thomas this weekend! The past three weekends have been fun, but busy - two weekends of visiting our parents, then going to March for Life and having friends over last weekend.  It will be refreshing to spend time just being together!

  3. LOVE the fort! Steven would eat that up with a spoon... I will have to surprise him with a fort after a long day at work sometime! I feel the same about WIWS. It's not them, it's us :). I'll be boring with you!

  7. The fort is so cute! you guys are so cute. And you had a great NFP post and I'm so glad you wrote it. the more of us out there communicating about NFP, the better off many will be for knowing about it and understanding they have options other than hormonal contraception and IUD's, sterilizations, etc.

    1. Thank you so much Michelle. I definitely agree! We really need more people talking openly about it!

  10. Your fort!! Love! We just had our 1.5 year anniversary, too, but I can tell you that forts and Christmas lights, sadly, were not involved =)

I've considered becoming a What I Wore dropout too...still not sure, but your honesty is great. And can I say I am so, so happy your NFP post is helping so many women?! You're so inspiring, Caitlin! Have a good weekend!

  11. Your NFP post is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for gathering the courage to write it and to share it with the world. I am sure God is using you to reach many women who either don't know about it, don't understand it, or are hesitant to use it. You truly poured your heart out in that post and it's the sincerity that makes it so wonderful!

  13. You and your husband are so adorable. I'm glad you're both 10 at heart. I feel 10 at heart often when my husband is like a grouchy 80 at heart.

    1. Ohhh sometimes we are the grouchy 10 year olds rather than the playful 10 year olds :)

  14. You and Thomas are so cute! Being young at heart is the best! I could do without big romantic dinners as long as Patrick and I were having fun together. Some of the best "marriage advice" I got was to "keep it interesting!" It sounds like you two are great at that! Congrats on 1.5 years!

Also... what do you use to take your pictures? Do you have a nice camera? They always look so good!

    1. I could do without romantic dinners too!! I use a Canon Rebel T2i to take pictures, and I love it! My in-laws got it for me for my birthday last year, and I use it all the time!

  15. So sad your stopping the what I wore sunday link-up on your blog. I really love those posts I think its such a positive way of showing that modern catholic women can be cute and modest at the same time.

    1. I definitely agree! I think it's a really awesome link up, but I just don't think God is calling me to evangelize through fashion.

  16. Oh my gosh. I'm pretty sure you just inspired every single reader to make a fort with her husband tonight. How romantic and adorable!

  19. I feel the same way about WIWS. That and I'm really not that fashionable and literally wear the same 5 outfits to mass every week....
