I am done with my week of fieldwork!!  The therapists there work ten hour days Monday through Thursday, so I was able to come back home last night.  I had such an amazing week, and I learned so much!  All of the therapists were so sweet, welcoming, and very willing to teach me.  I can't really talk about much of it because of confidentiality reasons, but I just loved all the kids, and I laughed so hard this week! My day was completely made yesterday by a six year old boy saying to an OT about me, "I am jealous because she is the prettiest girl I've ever seen." He also thought I was an orphan! I definitely cried a few times from laughing! :)

I got home around 10:30 last night to this sweetness from my husband! (I took some pictures this morning because the ones I took last night were kind of dingy!)
He is just the absolute best, and I am so blessed to have him as my valentine!

He also wrapped 19 flowers with his favorite memories of our 19 months of marriage.  It was so, so good to come back to him and his thoughtful surprises after a tiring week!
We'll probably go out to dinner this weekend to celebrate with an Olive Garden gift card we have from Christmas!

I had so much fun at the photography class with my mom and my sister last weekend, and I am so excited to try to use my camera in manual mode most of the time now!

We spent most of the time learning how to use our cameras and practicing a little bit around the photographer's house!
Then we got to go downtown to practice taking pictures with a person!  These are some of my favorites!  There were 14 of us shooting at the same time, so she is not looking at me in most of them!
The three of us went out to Qdoba for lunch, and then we went to practice a little bit more by taking pictures of each other!  I loved all the time with them!

Now can someone pretty please let me take them out on a photo shoot so I can keep practicing??? :)

My grandma made us all a recipe book with family recipes in the original handwriting.  Isn't that such a special gift?  I just love this!

I'm trying to decide what to cook for dinner tonight.  I was so spoiled this week with my mom cooking every night!  Suggestions?

I pretty much did not read blogs or do anything this week, so if you wrote anything really good or saw a great post by someone else, send it my way! :)

I missed Thomas so much this week, so I am really, really looking forward to spending time with him this weekend!

  1. Congrats on finishing that week!

Your hubby is the sweetest - how is he ever going to top all that??

  2. That was a really sweet Valentine's surprise! David ended up being really sick yesterday so we didn't do much. He did order me a present ahead of time and bought (and hid) a rose for me the day before, so that worked out, but I miss when little events were a bigger deal (although he never would have gone all out like Thomas did!). Now that we have a little one, there isn't as much of a couple focus!

  4. So glad you had a good week, Caitlin. Doing something you love as a profession is a blessing, don't you think? I remember being amazed when I was a young teacher that I actually got paid for doing something I just loved to do!

Your hubby is the sweetest...And I love the recipe book your grandmother made. That is priceless! I have that exact print hanging in my family room. I love the handwritten recipes...sooo special!

Have a wonderful weekend with your man! : )

  12. What a wonderful surprise from your sweet hubby! :) I pinned the photo of the banner. Couldn't resist!

Dinner suggestions - either this salmon recipe:

    or this fish chowder:

You know... since it's Lent. But I must warn you, they're both delicious. I feel like I should be eating bland or boring fish recipes during Lent but I don't have any! :-D

  13. What a sweet, sweet Valentine's surprise from your hubby! Very creative :)

What kind of camera do you use? Those pictures are stellar. Would love if you did a post on photography and shared some of your tips :) Taking a photography class is on my would-love-to-do list but I haven't had the time...

    Have a great weekend!

    1. And I forgot to mention the cookbook! What an awesome idea! It's the handwriting that gets you, right? Actually, we have some family recipes that my grandmother typed on 3x5 cards, and even that is very charming.

Pretty pictures, too. Your friends and family are always especially pretty.
