What I Wore Sunday & Weekend Recap

I'm linking up with Kendra and Emily at Fine Linen and Purple! Here's what I wore for the Feast of the Epiphany.

Sweater Dress: NY & Co - I have been looking for a sweater dress for months, and I finally bought this one because it met all of my criteria (less than $20, hits the top of the knees or lower, and doesn't show underwear lines - harder than you'd think to find one that meets those three!).  It was on clearance and I had a coupon!
Cardigan: NY & Co
Boots: Rack Room
Earrings: NY & Co

This has been a relaxing weekend spent with my sweet husband, who is at a soccer scrimmage right now!  We went for an afternoon date yesterday to go see Les Miserables, which was amazing!  And we've been playing an embarrassing amount of board games.  I'm talking about so many rounds of Yahtzee that most people would probably never want to hang out with us again. We've even been making up our own games with the dice. At least we keep ourselves entertained. :)

Also, now that my knee has healed, we've been spending much more time outside! We went to a park near us to take a walk last night as the sun was setting.

I'm not a big fan of the colder weather, but even I have to admit that there is something so peaceful being outside in the winter in the midst all of the bare trees.
Nature always connects me to God, especially serene views likes this.  I always feel like he sends them just for me, a little reminder to let me know that he is always there.
"but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
-John 4:14
Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday! :)

Love,
Caitlin

  2. Caitlin, you have such a pretty smile! Lovely outfit, just so classy, and what a deal on the dress too! And the nature photos are stunning. I wish SC had a little bit more of winter so I could capture similar images. I thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed your photos from England! I keep nagging my hubby to get orders there. LOL.

  5. I think I just fell in love with this entire post! Your outfit is amazing - I love the red, and totally understand how difficult it can be to find a dress that means all of those criteria! Your earrings are also quite rad.
The pictures of nature are amazing, and I totally agree that there is something wonderful about finding God in His created world =)
    Happy Epiphany!

  8. Love the outfit, Caitlin. And I remember Steve and I playing Scrabble all the time before we had children. We used to write the date and the score (he usually won!) inside the lid. Now we look back and smile at the fun we had! : )

  10. Oh, do I know what you mean about the underwear lines. The neckline is my favorite part of the dress.

That sundown picture is so peaceful. Thanks for sharing that moment with everyone.

  13. Ah, sweater dresses. They make the world seems so right!

Winter is SO beautiful. I love it. Though, I admit, it makes me feel like any and all attempts of mine to create something beautiful through art is futile: God is SO the most amazing painter!

I love your boots and your dress--totally agree that undies are a huge factor in dress shopping =) I'm so glad your knee is doing better and that you and Thomas have gotten so much QT lately!
