Weekend Recap - Christmas Decorating, Cookie Exchange, Etc.

First of all, thank you so much for all of the tips on where to get an Advent wreath! We actually went to the store at our church after mass and found out that they sell them there.  They were out of them, but we plan on getting one from there this week.

On Friday night, we went out for a double date for dinner and ice cream with one of my friends from school and her husband.  They are hilarious, and we had so much fun hanging out with them.  We don't hang out with many married couples besides the older ones in our Bible study at church, so it was really nice to be able to spend some time with another couple in the same stage of life as us.

We also decorated our tree together! We tried to take some of those cool Christmas photos of couples wrapped in Christmas lights that I've seen on Pinterest (like this), and this was the best we could do!

It feels so wonderful to have the apartment decorated for Christmas! I would just love to keep everything up all year round if we could!:) Although, I suppose it might not feel as special then.

Thomas's parents got us a nativity set to paint as a gift last year, but we still need to paint it!

I was inspired to make a Christmas wreath for our front door seeing as we still had our spring wreath up! It took a while to make, but I love coming home to something cute on the front door!:)

One of my best friends came to visit on Saturday, and she brought her sweet younger sister!  We had lunch and ice cream together and we went out take a look at the college campus.  It was so wonderful to spend time with the two of them!

On Sunday I had a Christmas cookie exchange with girls from my OT program!  I just love Christmas parties, and I had so much fun preparing snacks and hanging out with everyone from school! Not to mention getting a container full of all different types of cookies! YUM! If you have never been to a cookie exchange before, everyone brings a batch of cookies, and you fill up a container with all the different kinds.

I made my great grandma's peanut butter cookie recipe! I'll have to post it soon!

It's been a busy weekend, but it's been full of wonderful friends, great food, Christmas fun, and so, so much joy.  It's time to get back into study mode for this last week of school now!

Love,
Caitlin

  11. Love your front door wreath - and the tree is so pretty. I loved seeing those two stocking hanging above the fireplace. It brought back some good memories from our early days of marriage :)
