S'mores Bars



Thomas needed something to take for his Christmas party at work, so I made him some s'more bars.  I haven't made these in over a year because I had completely forgotten about them, which is surprising because they are really, really good.  I am not sure where I found the recipe.  I only have it because I messaged it to a friend after I brought these to a sorority alumni event last year.  If you know, let me know so I can give them credit !

Ingredients: 
CRUST:
1 sleeve of Graham crackers, crushed
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup sugar

INSIDE:
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

TOP:
3 Hershey Bars

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar together. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 13×9 pan. Bake for about 7 minutes at 350 degrees.  Take it out and allow it to cool slightly.

Cream together the butter, shortening, sugar and brown sugar. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Stir the flour, salt and baking soda in a separate bowl.  Blend the flour mixture into the mixed ingredients.  Use a spoon to mix in the marshmallows and chocolate chips.

Spread the filling over the graham cracker crust. Bake this for 10 minutes. Break apart the Hershey Bars into rectangles and place them on top of the dessert. Put it back in the oven and bake for 15 more minutes. Remove and let it cool completely before cutting.

  1. Those look soo good, Caitlin! I can't wait to show the recipe to Peyton. She is my baker and also loves s'mores. All my kids do! I know what you mean about forgetting a recipe. We do that alot. And then one of my littles will say, "Mom...why don't you make....anymore?" Ha! I am sure they were a hit at your husband's work party. We will be trying them soon!
