Thanksgiving Break

Thomas and his dad started off Thanksgiving morning running a Turkey Trot together!

They did so well, and it was really fun to be there to support them and watch them finish together!

After the race we spent the rest of the morning relaxing, playing games, and spending time with my in-laws until my family got there.

We're a little wacky when we get together! :)

Our Thanksgiving dinner was amazing!  Our moms really went all out, and this is just a small part of all of the delicious food we had!

Thomas and I just so incredibly grateful that our parents get along well and live close together so that we can celebrate holidays together! It makes life so much easier.  We were just sad that my brother and Thomas's brother couldn't be there with us this year.

My mom, sister, and I braved the mall to go Black Friday shopping in the morning after Thanksgiving.  It was surprisingly not very busy, so we must have missed all the crazy people who were out at midnight!  I got some awesome deals on Christmas presents, and I found a $180 wool coat from Kohls for $32.50!  As I told my sister, I was pretty stoked about the deals.  Yes, I really did use that word - that's just how excited I was! :)

On Saturday we got up early and went for a long road trip to go to my little brother's football game!

It was so incredibly cold outside, and I don't think we were prepared enough for the weather!  Thankfully, we got some hot chocolate from the concession stand, and eventually we were smart enough to move to the other side of the stadium where the sun was instead of sitting in the shade!

He played awesome, it was a close game, and his team ended up winning! After the game, we went to Mellow Mushroom for dinner, and then we hung out in his dorm for a little bit before heading to the hotel and then home.

I am so glad I had the chance to see that boy, even with his no-shave November beard!  I hate that we live so far apart, but I'm grateful for the times I am able to see him!

God has blessed me with an absolutely wonderful husband and family, and I am so thankful for all of the time I was able to spend with them this week.

My posts will probably be a little less frequent over these next two weeks because it's the end of semester and life is busy!

Love,
Caitlin
