7 Quick Takes Friday (Volume 28)

-1-
Thank you so much for your prayers for my rotation last week. I had an absolutely amazing week!  I learned so much, and I was sad to go back to class after learning in the field.  My week was incredible, but also very, very emotionally tough.

-2-
I am so thankful for my sweet friend Elizabeth, who let me stay with her all week.  It was so, so good to spend time with her and to have the opportunity to see some of my good friends from college!

-3-
I also had the chance to go to Elizabeth's Bible study, which was really wonderful.  They are doing the book of James, and it was so neat hearing some different thoughts and perspectives on it after recently doing it at my church!

-4-
My parents got a rescue dog, Charlie! He is sooooo CUTE, and I cannot wait to see him, even though it won't be for a while!  I'm pretty sure my parents are already over the top in love with him.

-5-
My phone plan unexpectedly ended, and I was eligible for a free iPhone!  I have finally joined the 21st century hehe. I am particularly excited about having Instagram...now I have an outlet for excessive picture taking.  Here's a little taste of life recently.

-6-
I am hoping to make some pumpkin bread today on my break from work!

-7-
We are going to another fair this weekend! I can't wait, especially for that once a year deep fried candy bar.  Yum!

Happy Friday!
Caitlin

  1. Good morning, Caitlin...so happy that you spent some time with a dear friend. I met my best friend the very first day of college..ahem...lets see now...25 years ago! Yikes! Anyway, although we live miles apart, she is still a major part of my life. In fact, she is my daughter's Godmother.

Congrats on the i phone. Love your photos! Steve and I used to play scrabble all the time. And I love the photo of your parent's dog! What a cute idea... Happy weekend! Enjoy that pumpkin bread!

that's awesome about the free iphone...what service provider do you use??? I still haven't joined the 21st century..I feel like I'm the only one in my pharmacy class (of 206 people) that doesn't have a smart phone. Oh well. Maybe one day. :-) have a wonderful weekend Caitlin and Thomas!

  7. Your parents are too creative for putting that sign on their new dog! How adorable. I had a rotation in the burn unit too about 10 months ago, although it was adults. It was really difficult to see people suffering so much, and very emotionally tough for me too.

How exciting about the i-phone! I have one, but its the very first one that came out. So I guess i entered, and then left the 21st century. Have a great weekend, especially eating that candy bar:)

  10. Hi Caitlin, I'm visiting from 7 Quick Takes. My old phone is just fine for what I need it for, but I would really like to take pictures and use instagram. Your parents puppy is so cute. We just adopted a stay who was dumpled out near our farm.

  11. Visiting from QT....I have ZERO answers to the suffering. It's tough to do, to see, to process. I've been a CT tech for 20 years and I admit there are times I'm less than compassionate and precisely at those times, God shows me yet another reason to be grateful, another opportunity to pray for a patient and/or their family, a chance to show God's love. All I can say is that He can use ANYthing for His glory!
Blessings and enjoy your iPhone. Instagram is the best!! ;-)
