BUSY Weekened: Cookout, Mountain Bike Run, Mexican, Farm Date, and Soccer

Warning: Picture overload!

This weekend has been incredibly busy, but it's been filled with my favorite things - time with good friends and my wonderful husband!  On Friday night I went to one of my friend's house for a cookout and games.  We had some amazing food and played Apples to Apples.  I just love that game and these girls!

Saturday was an adventure to say the least.  Thomas and I didn't feel like doing our normal running route, so we decided to look online to see what else was out there.  We found a mountain biking trail that allows walkers and runners to come out, and we decided to go out there for our long run.  We don't usually stop on our runs, but this was no ordinary run.  We had Thomas's phone in case of an emergency, so we stopped to take a few pictures of this crazy running course.

Seriously, when else do you find see saws on your running trail?

Plus the hills were gigantic, and it was pouring with rain, so we needed a few breaks!

We finished our run completely soaked and five miles short of what we were supposed to do!   But hey, we did what we could do, and with the weather and terrain, we were pleased for the day.

This is a much more accurate depiction of how we felt at the end...

It was fun to do something so different, and we'll definitely go back again to challenge ourselves and to mix up our workouts!

On Saturday night, we went out for Mexican food with Thomas's soccer team to celebrate a birthday!  They're a really great group of people, and they had me cracking up.  I loved having the chance to get to know some of them better!

After church this morning, we went out for a really fun date!  We found a deal on Groupon a while ago for a hay ride, corn maze, and pumpkins for only $8 total for the two of us, so we took advantage of that and headed off to the farm today!

We got there right when it opened, and there was no one else there, so we had the hay ride completely to ourselves!

After the hay ride, we went through the corn maze.  This one was so easy in comparison to one that we did when we were dating.  It took us almost two hours to get through that one, but this one only took about 30 minutes.

Then we got to pick out our cute mini pumpkins!

We'll have to paint them soon!
I loved all of our quality time together at the farm!  I am also so happy that it's fall! I love all the fun that it brings!

I went to Thomas's soccer game this evening.  They lost, but it was still so much fun to go see him play!   And I had fun roaming the sidelines taking a million pictures of the team.

There was a beautiful sky at the game to end an amazing weekend!  Love it!

I'm not going to lie, I am so not ready to go back to school this week.  I'm struggling through some homework right now that I put off all weekend...

Love,
Caitlin

    1. Well, we're training for a marathon, so we're not totally crazy (well, maybe we are!), but we just increase 1 mile each week. We were supposed to do 18, but ended up doing 13.
