22 hours in the car.
6 amazing family members.
8 hours together.
1 victorious football game.
Countless mountain views.
1 missing pan of brownies.
2 birthday celebrations.
And way too many Extreme sour patch kids.
This past weekend was amazing, and I feel so blessed to have the absolute best family in the world! We may have spent most of the weekend on the road, but being with my family and watching my brother's game made it worth every minute in the car. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with my sweet family, and I wish I could see them more often.
The drive was long, but the views were gorgeous. Plus I had an entertaining pilot and lots of energy food to get us through.
We planned to tailgate when we got to the game on Saturday, but the tailgating parking lot was completely full, so we made our own tailgating area in a field of grass in the shade of the trees. My mom brought all kinds of delicious food for us to share.
We had stopped earlier in the day to eat lunch at a rest stop. I packed a pan of brownies to eat with lunch and to bring for tailgating. When we got to campus, the brownies were nowhere to be found! We all were so sure that we packed up everything at the rest stop, so it's definitely a mystery.
The weather was beautiful, and the company was better. So. Much. Love.
And yes, I did block out the name of the football team in every picture! I am just a little paranoid and want to respect the privacy of my brother and family! ;)
I was especially happy my grandma came from out of town and that I had the chance to see her! She is too cute and I love her so much!
And my parents are pretty cute too! :)
The stadium was packed and the game was awesome! Their team ended up winning!
My brother is a kicker, and he did so well, but this weekend he also got to make a tackle, and it was AWESOME!!! I was so glad I got to see it in person! :)
I also had the chance to meet his cute girlfriend! Hopefully we'll be able to talk longer at the next game!
After the game, we went out for dinner to celebrate both my brother and my grandma's birthdays! It was a wonderful meal filled with good conversation and lots of laughter. And wondering about the fate of those brownies when we were craving them after dinner...seriously though, they must have made another family very happy upon finding them!
It says "#@$%*! SOUR" on the package. That is no joke right there. Those bad boys kept us awake. Plus many, many rounds of playing 20 questions. Literally at least two hours worth. And a few pit stops along the way, including lunch (leftover tailgating food) on the side of a creek in the mountains.
I was sad to come back home so soon, but, as my mom said, we just have to make the most of the time we are able to spend together. The next time can't get here soon enough! The only thing that could have made this weekend better would have been if my sister could have been there!
