7 Quick Takes Friday (Volume 23)

-1-
I can't get enough of beautiful sunsets!  That is my absolute favorite thing to see!

-2-
We have been feeling pretty unmotivated with our long runs recently, and I'm afraid we've resorted to junk food as a motivation to run.  Every weekend we complete our long run, one of us gets to decide on a treat, but if we stop even a mile short we don't get anything!  This week was Cookout milkshakes.  I'm convinced there's nothing better after an exhausting run!

-3-
If anyone reads this blog regularly, you've probably seen more pictures of ducks than you really care to see, but dates at the pond are kind of a regular part of our life.

They were kind of aggressive this week and one of them bit Thomas!
He said it didn't hurt, but I was having none of that and jumped up on a bench to feed them the rest of the time. I know, we are too cool...

Don't read this quick take if blood makes you queasy!  We went for a run on the trail this week and I got an awful nose bleed when we were about a mile away from our car.  Without skipping a beat, Thomas ripped his nice running shirt off and gave it to me to use as a tissue while we walked back to the car.  I told him I'm lucky to have a man whose willing to give me the shirt off his own back haha! :)

I am going to be doing a lot of stuff at an elementary school this semester, and I am just loving those kids so far.  I was in the first grade classroom yesterday, and one of the kids got a paper cut.  I put a band-aid on him, and before you know it I was putting band-aids on about 7 other kids who needed band-aids.  The same thing happened with all of them needing to sharpen their pencils at the same time.  Too funny!

This week I'll start going through this book with girls in my Bible study group at school! Definitely looking forward to it!  I don't always respond with grace to situations, so I am hoping this will help with some of those crazy emotions that come out now and then.

I made some banana cake for me and Thomas this week.  This was an AWESOME recipe! I definitely recommend it for using up those brown bananas!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Love,
Caitlin

  7. I tend to use similar motivation when it comes to running. You're so good about balance though - y'all always have the most amazing desserts but still stay so fit. I'm trying to learn how to do that! I love duck pictures too :) Happy weekend!!

  8. They look like mighty fearsome ducks; you are right to take care. What kind of things were you doing at the school?

  10. My mom used to take us to feed the geese! We loved it growing up!

Your baking always looks so good. The banana bread with choc chips is still my fav. YUM. I've been saving up my bananas so I can make 3 loaves!
