7 Quick Takes Friday (Volume 21)

-1-
Life has gotten really busy with school and working, so I have been posting less frequently.  I will probably continue to have less frequent posts, but I will definitely blog when I have time because I really enjoy it!

Thomas and I tried to go to a local festival this weekend, but we got there later than we planned, two hours before a concert they were having.  Since we didn't pay for tickets for the concert, they wouldn't let us go into the festival.   However, there were vendors along the side streets, and people gave us some watermelon cake for free because they were closing down for the night and were trying to get rid of everything.  What a cute treat!

Also, the reason we got to the concert later than we planned was because we bought a second car!!!  I don't feel comfortable putting what kind on the internet, but it's a solid, reliable, long-lasting car, so I'm really excited about it!  And I'm even more excited to be able to leave the apartment during the day when I need to go somewhere for school or errands! Yay!

The maintenance men have been working on re-piping our apartment for the past two weeks.  They were in here working past 6:00 on Wednesday, and all of the appliances were pulled out of our kitchen.  So, we took advantage of that to go out for some Indian food for dinner (thanks mom and dad!).  Oh it was so, so, so good. The manager was really sweet, and he gave us a free dessert to share!  Not sure why we keep getting these free desserts haha!

I loved being able to spend some quality time with my sweet husband away from the stress of the week.   There is no doubt about it, he is always able to lift my spirits! :)

This post by Kaylene responding to the news that her child might have Down Syndrome is an absolute must-read.  So much faith.

The surprise date I took Thomas on last weekend was to a bird park! We had so much fun together! Thomas is always able to guess surprises, and I am not good at hiding things, so I was so excited that I actually did surprise him this time! He was thrilled, which made it even more fun! :)

Here are my favorite Bible verses for encouragement if you are in need of a boost this week!

I am soooo excited for this weekend! I'll be meeting Stacy, EmilyKendra, and Kayla! Yay Catholic bloggers!!! :)

Love,

  4. We're a one-car couple right now, too, and most of the time I barely notice, but with a few job changes for us, those days might have to come to an end soon. I'm intimidated! But, so glad you found something awesome!

    1. Thanks Stephanie! We had one for a year because Thomas got in an accident last fall. We were holding off for as long as possible on buying one, but finally had to because I need it to get to the school I'm doing research at this fall.

  9. I'm dying of jealousy that your husband will eat Indian food with you. My husband would rather get a root canal sans Novocain than eat some dal....
