Loving Nothing

Sometimes the best weekends are the ones with absolutely nothing to do.  Thomas and I have been loving spending so much time together.  Last night we had a really fun at home date night! We played Scrabble, and then Thomas told me there was no way he would be able to rest for the night if he didn't get to eat some chocolate.  So we decided to make some s'mores! We have a fireplace in our apartment, but we've never used it because I am the biggest fire hazard known to man because it's the middle of summer, so we toasted our marshmallows over candles instead!  Then we got cozy to watch The Notebook together. :)

We went on a long run this morning and loved getting to talk about absolutely everything.  That wiped us out for the day, so we've been doing a whole lot of nothing today and loving every bit of it.  I did go to the library for a while to get some school work done while Thomas stayed here to work on my anniversary present.  We always make each other handmade gifts, so it's been really funny living together because we have had to be really sneaky about getting things done!

We were wanting some more chocolate today (surprise, surprise), but we didn't have any flour or chocolate chips, so we made some of these no bake cookies together.

We're anxiously waiting for them to set, so we're about to head off for an evening walk while they do!

I love weekends, and I especially love time spent doing a whole lot of nothing fancy with my best friend! :)

Love,
Caitlin

  5. I love those cookies. Mine never really set though. Not sure what it is that I'm doing wrong. Used to make them with my mom all the time and they turned out fine.

    1. I read some reviews that said that when it's rainy outside it stops them from setting. I'm not sure if that is the case or not, but I know it impacts other cookies that my mom makes.

  6. So cute! I need to learn to enjoy doing nothing more - doing nothing often makes me feel guilty. But really, sometimes there is nothing better than simply basking in time with one another (as proved by you and your beloved!). It makes me think of the book Severe Mercy. In that book Sheldon Vanauken talks about moments that seem to last forever, like they are filled with a sense of eternity. I believe he called this "timefulness." Anyways, great book if you're looking for a good read!
