7 Quick Takes Friday (Volume 12)

-1-
Check out the two guest posts from this week for the Catholic Marriage Series!  Sarah and Emily both wrote amazing posts: Prepare for a Lifetime, Not Just a Day by Sarah and Preparing for a Lifetime by Emily.  Let me know if you are interested in writing a post! :)

One of my best friends came to visit this week and we had a great time shopping and hanging out at the pool! I found a big baking cookbook on clearance for only $3.00 so I have a lot of new recipes to try out! :)

-3-
This isn't from the cookbook, but I am making these Mountain Dew cupcakes for my dad for Father's Day this weekend.  I don't think I'll like them too much, but he loves Mountain Dew so I think he might enjoy them!

-4-
I am also making a cookie cake from the cookbook.  I can't wait to try it!

Here are my posts from this week: beach weekendbanana crumb muffins, and a post about judging others based on our Bible study on James.

-6-
I really cannot believe that our summer session is almost halfway over.  It seems like it just started! My midterms are next week, so I have lots of studying to do!

-7-
I really can't think of a seventh thing to say, but I hope you have a great weekend! :)

Love,
Caitlin

  1. Your post is making me hungry. You'll have to share the cookie cake recipe after you make it! Have a good weekend.

  2. I'm making something I don't like for my husband for Father's Day. It's the only way it will last long enough for him to eat it.

  3. We used to make diet coke cupcakes all the time. You don't taste that much of the soda, and the combinations were SO much fun to think up.... we loved diet coke, root beer, and cream soda with chocolate cake. SO CHOCOLATEY! PS Steven definitely had those superhero cupcake wrappers and sticks at his last bday. I couldn't resist them at Williams Sonoma lol.

    Loving the series!

    1. Ooo neat! I don't drink soda, but I think I might like it when it's disguised in cake! Too funny that he had those wrappers!
