7 Quick Takes Friday (Volume 12)

I was so happy to see one of my best friends from college this past weekend! We got some frozen yogurt and went shopping while Thomas met up with one of his friends to hang out and watch a movie.  I hate living in a different town from her, but I'm so excited because she is coming to visit one day next week! :)

This past weekend was interesting because we found two little kittens when we were out on a run!  I am not a cat person, but they were just too cute for us to leave! We went to the grocery store and bought some cat food to bring them. We caught one of them and bring it home with us.  We put it on our balcony while we were figuring out what to do with it.  When we went out there, it got terrified of us and jumped off of our THIRD FLOOR balcony!  Thank goodness that thing did not get hurt at all!  It ran off and we brought it food in the bushes by our apartment, but it's gone now. :(

Check out the first guest post in the Catholic Marriage Series by Stacy of Catholic and Crunchy.  She is a happy newlywed who is doing a great job of placing God at the center of her marriage right from the start.

This week the girls in my program threw a shower for one of our friends who is getting married this summer.  It was Pinterest themed, so everyone made her something they had seen on Pinterest.  I love my class! Everyone is so crafty and creative, so it was really fun seeing what everyone made. I made her a picture frame dry erase board that she and her husband to be can use to write each other notes, similar to the one I made for me and Thomas.

For some reason I am really drawn to reading adoption blogs.  I love the blog Grace in My Heart! She and her husband have the cutest adopted son with the sweetest smile, and I love seeing the pictures she posts of him.  They are very much so wanting to adopt another child,  but many of the situations that came up were too costly.  If you know of any birth moms or adoption situations, send her an email at graceinmyheart@gmail.com.

Christina is doing a WONDERFUL series of posts on beauty this month, so make sure you go check them out!

Thomas and I are going to the beach this weekend with my parents! I am so excited to just relax and see them!  What are you all doing this weekend? I hope it's a good one! :)

Love,
Caitlin

  2. A beach weekend will be so nice for you guys!

That frame turned out really cute! One of my friends made us a similar "I love you because___________" frame for us for our shower and we have had SO much fun taking turns writing on it and waiting for the other person to see it. I'll have to post a picture of it sometime. The Pinterest shower sounds like such a cute idea!

  3. Cute frame. That reminds me, I made a wreath for our front door, inspired by the one you made earlier. I love it, and will be making a few as Christmas gifts. Thanks for the great idea!

  7. I'm making frames like that for friends who just got married and another friend who is getting married in 2 weeks! It's such an inexpensive (got the frames on clearance for $3!) gift, but so personal!
