7 Quick Takes Friday (Volume 6)

-1-
More of our bananas went bad quickly this week, so I found this amazing recipe from How Sweet It Is for brownie banana bread cupcakes with brown sugar cream cheese frosting.  Thomas and I had a fun little baking date and we really enjoyed the results! They have a thin layer of brownie on the bottom, and they are some of the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. Yum! Make them, you won't regret it.

My husband and I have been learning A LOT from our couple's Bible study at church on James.  Here are my posts from this week on temptation and getting through the hard times in life.

-3-
We had so much fun going to the circus for a date night this week! You can see more pictures here.

My husband works almost an hour away from where we live, so I typically don't get to see him during the day.  Sometimes when I have time off from school I go up with him for the day.  I didn't have classes yesterday, so I went with him to study at the library while he worked.  We packed lunches and ate together in the cafeteria area at Target.  I just love seeing this sweet boy's face during the day! :) Plus I love the extra time spent together in the car on the way there and back.

Also, when we were leaving from our lunch we saw a man sprint out of Target shoplifting a bunch of boxes that looked like iPads.  Thomas wanted to sprint after him, but I vetoed that idea really quickly.  I think his dream in life is to chase someone down who has stolen something...

I have all my exams between May 1st-May 3rd next week, so if you think of it please say a prayer for me! I have been studying like crazy for about a week now.  I can't believe my second semester of grad school is just about over!

-7-
Not too many plans for this weekend. Tonight Thomas and I are going to volunteer at a home for children with severe disabilities with our church, and we're really looking forward to it!  Other than that I'll just be studying this weekend. Do you have any fun plans?

  1. No fun plans. My small town lacks...a lot. I plan on reading and probably a grocery shopping trip.

  2. Those look so good!! Do they come out chewy or more cake like?

    1. The brownie part is pretty chewy and the banana bread is cake-like, but just a little more dense than cake.

  3. Those cupcakes look amazing!!! I love that you find ways to spend extra time with him. Steven works various shifts, and I need to get better about that, because I'm always slightly grumpy on the days that I work until 5 and he goes in at 4.

  5. Great posts! The cupcakes sound so good! Never heard of those, thanks for the tip. Speaking of tip, I chuckled at the veto comment when your husband wanted to chase after the "bandit". I would have done the exact same thing! We will definitely add you to our prayer list for your finals. What a great accomplishment!

    1. Haha yes, it must be a guy instinct! I was a little more concerned with his safety than having him try to tackle the guy! :) Thank you so much for your prayers. I really appreciate that!

  6. Yum for the cupcakes. I love the idea of you going with hm and studying. While I was teaching and my husband was in grad school, we would have "working dates" - he would study, and I would grade. It just wonderful to be together.
