Weekend Recap

I have loved having this week off from school, and I had such a great weekend spending so much time with my sweet husband! (who is really creative and just made me a header for my blog!)  We were able to spend some time relaxing together Friday night and we went to bed really early because we had to get up early for our half marathon.

This was our first trail race.  We were a little nervous about it, but we ended up having a lot of fun!  I only tripped once, and only one of my shoes got dirty. That was quite a feat for me as those who know me know that I am pretty clumsy!

We finished in 1:56:11, which was almost a minute better than our best half marathon time.  We were pretty excited about it considering the fact it was not on pavement, making it a little tougher than other runs.  We're slow and steady, but we love running and we love talking together and motivating each other.

It was pretty chilly outside, but there was not a cloud in the sky and we had a beautiful view of a canal at the end of the race that made for a perfect finish!

We spent the rest of Saturday relaxing and resting our legs, and then we went to Mass in the evening.  We have a visiting priest doing a mission this week at our church.  He did the homily and asked us if we would take $168 from him with no strings attached if he offered it.  Everyone of course said yes.  He asked if we’d take the $168 if he said he only wanted $1 back from us and again, everyone said yes.  Then he told us that God has given us 168 hours a week, so we should try to have that same attitude with our time and give God a little bit of that time back to go to the mission talks this week.  I loved this analogy, and my husband and I will definitely try to go to a few talks this week to see what he has to say.

The highlight of the weekend was picking up our wedding album! I am so, so, SO excited to finally have it and I have been looking at it so many times already!  I would say it was the best day of my life, but every day keeps getting better and better with my husband (cheesy, but true!) I can’t believe it’s already been over 7 months.  Time is flying by!

  1. Congratulations on the race! And yay for wedding albums!! I wish we had gotten a professional one, we just have one I made on our computer.

I would love to train for a half marathon, but it's so overwhelming and I'm not sure where to start.. Haha

    1. Thank you so much, Justine!!

I think you can order inexpensive albums online, especially the more modern looking ones where the pictures are printed right on the page.

And you could definitely train for a half marathon, you just have to start off small! :)
